Welcome to the eCoast! What exactly is the eCoast?
A Place on the Map—Geographically speaking, the eCoast is the region surrounding Portsmouth, New Hampshire, commonly known as the Seacoast. With easy access to beaches, mountains, and Boston, you’ll find that the eCoast is a pretty attractive piece of real estate. It’s no surprise to us that Portsmouth has repeatedly been named one of the top 10 places to live in the country.
An Organization—Established informally in January 1999 by volunteers from the local technology business community and formally branded in May 1999, the eCoast Technology Roundtable is a special committee of the Greater Portsmouth Chamber of Commerce. It has also evolved to include a unique partnership between the Chamber and the City of Portsmouth.
A Business Network —The eCoast is a group of high-tech businesses and professionals bound together by the common goals of promoting and protecting the high quality of life we all enjoy here. Proving that it’s not just another dot-com boomtown, the eCoast continues to play an important role in the regional economy and remains a thriving, pulsing network of technology-related businesses to this day.
A Media Phenomenon—The confluence of high-tech innovation grew organically in and around Portsmouth, a working port and tourist town with a rich history that dates back to 1623. That compelling story became a marketing and public relations phenomenon, garnering media attention from the likes of Business 2.0, The Boston Globe, New England Cable News, Christian Science Monitor, etc. Want more scoop? Nobody has told the eCoast story better than the media professionals who have been covering it… See more recent eCoast headlines here!
